VATE’s Federal Funding Letter
Dear VATE members,
Make your voice heard in Washington! Public schools are overwhelmed by the pandemic and its financial effects. The crisis cannot be addressed only by state and local governments. The federal government must step in with financial support for the country’s schools.
Pick up your pen or your keyboard and make a difference. Make a copy of this sample letter or write your own telling Virginia Senators Warner and Kaine, as well as your U.S. representative, to send federal funds to states and localities to support public schools.
Although printed and signed letters are most effective, you might want to send emails. In the subject line of your emails, you might write, “Send Federal Funds to States and Localities for Public Schools.”
You can email Senator Warner through his website here.
You can email Senator Kaine through his website here.
Mailing addresses for Senators Warner and Kaine are included in the sample letter. You can find your U.S. representative’s name and contact information at https://www.govtrack.us/congress/members
After sending your letter, ask two friends to send letters! Feel free to forward this email to other educators. Together we can make sure Virginia schools are fully funded!
Sincerely,
VATE’s Executive Board
