For the past few years, one of the highlights of the conference has been the presentation by VATE’s liaison with the Department of Education, Tracy Fair Robertson. With the overhaul of the English standards in the state, it’s been no surprise that Tracy’s presentation has been standing-room-only for several years now.
“Everything You Always Wanted to Know About the NEW English SoL” gives an overview of the changes, and while it may not give away all of the state’s secrets regarding the new test, it certainly helps draw attention to some important pieces of information regarding them, as well as some of Tracy’s own pet peeves (how many years have we been told to move away from five paragraph essays now?). Below are several of her past presentations.
Thanks to Tracy for her annual presentation and for sharing it with us here.
