2010 Meetings

Saturday, Feb 20: Oliver Hall 3090 (VCU's School of Education); we will convene at 10:30. Oliver Hall is at the corner of Main and Harrison, 1015 W. Main, Richmond. The south front door to Oliver Hall, which faces Main Street, will be open. Signs will be posted on the door directing you to the room. There is a parking deck at the corner of Cary and Harrison; street parking on Cary and Harrison and also Main will probably be plentiful because it is Saturday. For directions to the campus, please see http://www.maps.vcu.edu/monroepark/oliverhall-edu/

Saturday, March 20: Green Run High School, 1700 Dahlia Drive, Virginia Beach, VA 23453-2199 We are a session scheduled during VBATE's Symposium. In addition, this will allow us to visit the VA Beach conference site.

Saturday, May 22: Longwood University--We will meet in Grainger 101. We will begin at 10:30 am. There should be plenty of parking directly in front of and near the building - both on the street and in the Buffalo Street lots. It has been suggested that we park in the Faculty/Staff lot to the left when facing the Episcopal church, not in the Craft Admissions Visitor lot. Campus police will be notified about our meeting. Longwood's campus maps here.

Saturday, July 31: James Madison University, 3235 Memorial Hall

Each meeting should begin at 10:30. However, it would be great if we could arrive at the March 20 meeting at 8:30 to support VBATE sessions prior to our meeting convening at 10:30. Then those who are able will be able to tour the VA Beach site.

Note:

Certain board members do not need to attend every meeting, but we would like to hear reports from these reps at least once a year:
- NCTE Promising Young Writers
- NCTE Achievement Awards in Writing
- NCTE Recognition of Excellence in Literary Magazines
Please consider your responsibilities and let Chris know which meeting is most appropriate for your attendance/report (for instance, it may be prior to your big push for participation OR you may think it's more appropriate to join us after winners have been named).

If you are responsible for a position that does not need to make quarterly reports, please let Adria know, and please let her know at which meetings you do plan to make your report(s).
