Robin Smith taught high school English for over 25 years and currently teaches English education at Longwood University. She earned a PhD in instructional technology from George Mason in 2008. Her current research focuses on barriers to digital literacy. She was named Virginia Teacher of the Year in 2000 and traveled to Kazakhstan in 2001 to work with English teachers on a grant from the State Department. Robin is very committed to social justice in education—especially as it relates to rural schools and digital literacy.
