Kirk Dolson holds a bachelor's degree in English and a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a concentration in secondary English both from Virginia Tech. After spending 5 years in the classroom, he obtained his administration certification from George Mason University and became a middle school administrator serving 7th grade teachers and students. He then spent 5 years as Loudoun County's School Assistance and Remediation Programs Coordinator during which he assisted all schools in the county with school improvement efforts including but not limited to differentiation, vocabulary strategies, and adolescent literacies. He also helped lead and the develop the county's approach to Response to Intervention (RtI).
Currently, Kirk is serving as an assistant principal at Potomac Falls High School in Sterling, Virginia. He oversees the English, Science, and Career and Technical Education departments as well as the library. Kirk has been an active member of VATE for the past 5 years and recently served as the Elementary Member-at-Large.
