Chuck MillerChuck Miller has been a member of VATE since 1981 and a member of the VATE executive board for 23 years.  During that time, he has served in various capacities including middle school representative-at-large, president, and his current role of executive secretary.  Chuck has been teaching English for 34 years, 31 of them at Henley Middle School in Albemarle County.  For the first 27 years of his career, Chuck also coached cross country (11 years on the high school level and 16 as an assistant at the University of Virginia).  Chuck holds both a B.A. and M.A. in English from UVA, where he met his wife and best friend, Vicki, a career banker who supports his habit of teaching school.  Chuck has two grown children, a son who shares his delusions that UVA’s revenue sports will return to their glory years, and a daughter, who was lured to the University of Tennessee by the siren of SEC football and who continues to reside in Knoxville.  When not teaching or working for VATE, Chuck enjoys hiking in the Blue Ridge Mountains with Edie, the “best beagle ever.”
